Clean Elections

Get money out of politics.

Five dollars from a registered Kittery voter is the entire ask — and it is worth far more than it sounds.

I have always and continue to run as a Maine Clean Elections candidate. That means I accept no corporate money and no large private donations.

Contributions are processed by the Maine Ethics Commission’s official Clean Election portal. You will leave this site to complete your $5.

How it works

Three steps, about two minutes.

Check you’re eligible

You must be a registered Maine voter. Contributions from Kittery and House District 151 residents are the ones that count toward qualifying.

Give exactly $5

Not $4, not $10. The Clean Elections program counts qualifying contributions of exactly five dollars, one per registered voter.

Sign the receipt

The state portal records your name and address so the Ethics Commission can verify the contribution. That verification is what makes it count.

Questions

Common questions about Clean Elections.

Can I give more than $5?
Not to the Clean Elections fund — the qualifying contribution is fixed at exactly $5 per registered voter, and that cap is the point of the program. If you want to do more, the most valuable things you can give are your time and your conversations with neighbours.
Does my $5 go to Kristi directly?
No. Qualifying contributions go to the Maine Clean Election Fund, administered by the Maine Ethics Commission. Reaching the required number of contributions is what qualifies the campaign to receive public funding.
Do I have to live in Kittery?
To have your contribution count toward qualifying, you need to be a registered Maine voter in House District 151. If you live elsewhere in Maine, the best thing you can do is give $5 to your own Clean Elections candidate.
Why does the state need my name and address?
Because the contribution has to be verifiable. The Ethics Commission confirms each $5 came from a real registered voter in the district — that verification is exactly what makes the program resistant to outside money.
I’d rather give in person or by check.
That works too, and paper forms are often easier to collect at events. Send us a message or call 603.969.7496 and we will get a form to you.
